Drafter, Ninjato, Spongemagnet, Jaak De, Digitale, Stubborn, Leftchest, Verfest @ Kokpit Kafe (Prague) August 10th, 2012

    2012 - 08.09

Holy hell! Lunchmeat is bringing some amazing glitch and bass acts from around the world to the Kokpit Kafe in Prague. Entry is only 50 Kc ($2)! That’s about two beers.

DRAFTER: Spaced out glitch-hop producer from Caracas, Venezuela.
As a bass player, for the rockband Cirko Vulkano, Aldo toured all over the American continent. It was early 2010 when he started the experimental solo project DRAFTER; heavily inspired by the Low End Theory podcasts and his love for synths. After many years of playing live with bands and thinking about the audience reaction it was a relief for him to make more introspective music without worrying about styles and/or feedback from the crowd. DRAFTER describes his style as experimental music based on pounding synthesized beats and low end frequency (ab)use. You can definitely hear the Southern American influences through all the bleeps and beats.

NINJATO: Shaolin glitch master from Ghent, Belgium
Ninjato, formerly known as Störungstelle, is heavily inspired by the sound of Doshy, Loops Haunt & Amon Tobin. Just his influences Ninjato loves heavy sound design combined with organic melodies. Add some glitch and bleeps to that and you have a definition of the sound of the Ninja. Ninjato played as a support act for Shabazz Palaces. Other artists he shared the stage with include Slugabed, Doshy, Loops Haunt, Rudi Zygadlo and more. His album ‘Chronicle of the six Samurai’ is coming out on Vinyl in September 2012.

SPONGEMAGNET: Trosmocosmic beat duo from Brussels, Belgium
Spongemagnet is the combined minds from Umbrelladelika’s Shepherd & Egon Fisk.
Their sound is all about wonky beats, fonky melodies and groovy fx. They shared the stage with some of their heroes: Baconhead, Fulgeance, Sunken Foal and & Kelpe. They have a forthcoming album on Herrmutt Lobby’s Thin Consolation label.

STUBBORN & LEFTCHEST (Caoutchou label dj’s)
Stubborn plays a blend of bass with wonky beats, glitch-hop, broken beats and other electronic offsprings of this merge. Shared the stage with artists as DJ Food, Gramatik, Eskmo and Bobby Tank. Check out his mixtape releases on our Mixcloud page: http://www.mixcloud.com/tag/caoutchou-records/
Leftchest is the latest addition to the Caoutchou crew. He’s been making all kinds of electronic music since 2005. Last year Leftchest started dj’ing and soon conquered stages all over Belgium, sharing the stage with artistst as Machinedrum, Aleksi Perälä, Slugabed, Montgomery Clunk. Expect a mix of spaced out glitch-hop to post dubstep & challenging electronica. http://soundcloud.com/leftchest

A Journey into Unknown Sounds and Trippy Visuals

    2012 - 03.27

    Opuka at Lunchmeat 3/24

This past weekend was Prague’s annual Lunchmeat Festival at Bio Oko and Meetfactory.  The two day festival consisted of a number of different DJs spinning everything from glitch, dubstep, ambient, experimental, and more.  It doesn’t stop there–the music was also accompanied by crazy visuals from various artists, some by the DJs themselves.

Incite/, a German electronic, audio-visual duo provided a memorable set with pulsating, intense, experimental beats that timed so well with the black and white imagery projected over them.  Their performance embodied the festival’s intent of mixing sound with sight.

The normally bare and minimal Meetfactory featured installations hanging from the ceiling and also opened up a second stage called “A Very Foreign Affairs Dubstep Stage.”  This stage showcased talented and well-known DJs such as Author–Ruckspin and Jack Sparrow–and Kode 9.  The stage was located in a tiny, almost claustrophobic, dark room reminiscent of vibes found at venues like Plastic People in London.

Author played a slower, melodic dubstep set, staying true to the underground dubstep atmosphere of the tiny space.  Kode 9′s set was much more upbeat and featured a wider range of music styles that certainly kept the audience grooving.  He mixed in random songs such as a remix of Lil Wayne’s “A Millie,” which only added to the excitement and entertainment of seeing Kode 9 live.

The two days were jammed pack with a myriad of audio-visual sensation that took over Prague all throughout the town.

Different Menu – Godfathers of Skweee from …::LUNCHMEAT::… on Vimeo.

Godfather’s of Skweee was a success! And the video above was born from this monster of a party. You’ve got to admit that the scenic views of Prague at night are stunning. I’ve been told that the decision to shoot this was spontaneous and took place 30 minutes before the party started. Good call!

This Skweee party, co-organized by Glitch.CZ was a warm up for the full on Lunchmeat festival this weekend. More info to follow!

Lunchmeat & Glitch.CZ presents Different Menu: GODFATHERS OF SKWEEE @ Bubenská 1 (Prague) February 25th, 2011

    2011 - 02.17

    PAVAN aka LIMONIOUS
Frans Carlqvist je pravým pionýrem tohoto žánru a zakladatelem zásadního labelu Flogsta Danshall, na kterém vydává alba, kompilace i singly. Jeho tvorba živá vystoupení nesou kultovní status a inspirovaly většinu skweee producentů. Loňské album House of Usher (pod pseudonymem Limonious) následuje právě vydané Holy Volt, shrnující jeho syrovou produkci v letech 2003-2006.

    MESAK
V loňském roce vydal své první skweee LP School of Mesak.

    JOXAREN
I David Giese aka Joxaren má za sebou dlouholetou hudební praxi v různých žánrech – punku, dubu, hip hopu nebo electru, když odehral přes 500 živých vystoupení. Vedle hudební skweee tvorby (vydané především na Flogsta Danshall) natočil i dokument We Call It Skweee.

Zahrají také Glitch.cz djs NOA?, TVPRODUKT a DENOIR.

Controllerism Presentation @ Roxy NOD, March 11th 2010

    2010 - 03.04

That’s Moldover above, the guy credited with coming up with the term “controllerism“. Although I’m more of an admire and enthusiast of controllerism than an expert, I somehow was persuaded (my well-being was indeed threatened) to do a talk on the subject. The workshop will take place in NOD (above Prague’s Roxy) on the 11th of March from 9 PM. I’ll speak about everything controllerism, including its background, software, hardware, innovators, musical affiliations, and its future. I’ll also do a demonstration and a short set afterwards.

UPDATE: The presentation on controllerism will take place at 9 PM. Afterwards, I’ll be DJing to the visuals made by the workshop attendees from earlier that day. And don’t miss out on Secondhand Sureshots at 8:30 PM!

    -14:00–19:00 – Ilan Katin workshop
    - 20:30 – Projection: Secondhand Sureshots
    - 21:00 – RBMA info session + přednáška controllerism s Ingtzi
    - 22:00 – Ingtzi vs. visual vytvořený účastníky workshopu

Thanks to the Lunchmeat Festival for making this happen!

Denoir, Ingtzi, tvprodukt, and Claviq @ Lunchmeat Festival, March 2010

    2010 - 03.01

Alright, some blatant self-promotion. Denoir, tvprodukt, Claviq and I (Ingtzi) will be rocking the second stage at the upcoming Lunchmeat Festival on the 13th of March. This multi-media extravaganza will be taking place from Tuesday to Saturday. Headliners include Nosaj Thing vs. Aalto and Ikonika vs. Video Jack. But there’s much more to see and hear during the festival including: Jahbitat, Ad Bourke, Annie Hall, C.H.District, Fuss!, Ghostmother, GLGN & Jimmy Pe(e), Initi, Kidkanevil, pintaycolorea, Rec_Overflow, The Stereovideo Project, Torrent de Bites, Video Jack, VJ Comankh, VJ Entter, VJ Kolouch, Yes Robot, and more.

The first 100 tickets are on sale at a special discount: 390 CZK / 15 Euro

I’ll also be doing a short lecture on controllerism at NOD around at 7 PM on Thursday the 11th of March.
