    Atlantis EP Mini-Mix by Profresher

    2010 - 11.29

This mini-mix by Billy Blacklight aka Profresher is so aqua, I can hear the ocean when I put it up against my ear. Seriously, it reminds me of a glitched out version of the water levels from Sonic the Hedgehog.

The Atlantis EP was released last week and is available for download at BillyBlackLight.

    Coyote Kisses, Keeping it Real

    2010 - 11.29

There’s something in the drinking water at my old college that is producing some incredible electronic musicians. Coyote Kisses is the latest duo to emerge on the scene and they’re hitting it hard. These two are bound for greatness if their previous two releases are any indication of what’s ahead.

Yeah Yeah Yeahs – Maps (Bartlomein Remix)

    2010 - 10.13

First heard this track on the Polybeat Plant with Sugarpill and Stutterfly. Bartlomein’s Maps remix has been on constant rotation since, having over 600 plays in less than 24 hours. We all love ourselves some Yeah Yeah Yeahs and this glitch hop remix really does justice.

Bartlomein is a producer and DJ from New Jersey, who we’ll be bound to hear more of in the future.

And don’t miss Bartlomein’s bandcamp with more free tracks!

Exclusive: Rain Outside by +verb (adverb)

    2010 - 09.08

It’s been New York City’s hottest summer on record and I know many of you are praying for a little rain. Well, Glitch.CZ and +verb are ready to deliver. This exclusive track comes to you directly from +verb himself. He’s another prolific producer that I highly recommend following on soundcloud. This guy puts out new music at an unbelievable pace, often bluring the lines between dubstep, glitch, hip-hop, electro, heavy bass, and other genres. And he’s been supported by  Starkey, Dev79, Slugabed, Mimosa, Dave Seied, ill Cosby, Sugarpill, and Ana Sia, just to name a few.

His track Tab That Here is available on Addictech.

+verb will be releasing several upcoming EPs on the labels Vermin Street and Car Crash Set.

Eklektik Fluidum – Pubstep Ticket (Glitch Hop, Bass)

    2010 - 07.15

Fascinated by the unique raw sound of drum and bass and the powerful atmosphere of the first dvoika.troika parties in ostrava (1999), Eklektik Fluidum started playing drum and bass and promoting parties, which eventually led to the birth of the basstillbeat crew (2002). HC nuskool, synthetic fractures, bugbears, amens & the atmospheric cosmos were significant aspects of his sets, but he also collected downtempo vinyls, especially from the beloved ninjatune label. After several years full of enthusiasm for the  dnb scene and playing clubs all over the Czech Republic with a whole host of DJs and producers, Eklektik Fluidum began expanding his tastes further, which eventually led him to a melting pot of 70-170 bmp wonkadelic funky-glitched bass psynergy without any genre limitations.

    What is Glitch Hop?

I’ll be honest I don’t think there is a correct answer to this question nor is there for any genre of music. At the end of the day music is music despite the label or genre. There have been many names for “Glitch Hop” such as lazer bass, crunk bass, etc… The question you probably want to know is what defines a track as glitch hop.

The beauty of Glitch Hop is that it’s not really a genre with specific rules or BPM. I like to consider Glitch Hop the type of music that incorporates glitchy effects like beat repeaters and sweeps. The tempo of the music doesn’t really matter at all. The genre of Glitch is where it falls into because of this. When Hip-Hop/Crunk samples are added with all these effects the result is… Glitch Hop! Yup that’s basically it.

    Glitch.CZ Podcast

The wait is over! The third episode of the Glitch.CZ Podcast has arrived. Yet again we bring together producers from Europe and the US. First, a DJ set by Matoa, producer and founder of Case Records. Then an off the wall production by Sugarpill, with his latest original material – heard here for the very first time.

    .

    Matoa

Pavel Matoušek aka Matoa, founder of Case Records, is a Prague based DJ and producer who has been proudly presenting dubstep and UK-Garage in the Czech Republic for 7 years now. He is presently represented by Dubkraft Records (Romania), Bankai-Audio (UK), Soak (CZ) and by the publishing company DogBotPublishing (UK / London).

Matoa, an artist who has managed to develop his own sound, expects to prove himself in 2010. It’s a year of new contacts, new successes, and putting his skills to the test.  But there’s no need for him to compromise his underground style. Proving that good dubstep is not limited to Bristol or London; Matoa’s live show carves a path leading straight to the Czech Republic. Along with DJ and producer Ans, these two are the pillars of the Czech dubstep community.

    .

    Sugarpill

Specializing in bouncing bass, sideways beats and experiments of noise, Sugarpill is a master of both the creation and delivery of polytemponic glitch. Residing in Los Angeles yet living in a twisted world of sound, this young artist stays dosed to the eyelids in chopped-up samples, meticulously tweaked beats and obese waves of bass.

Sugarpill seamlessly merges his techy sensibility and immaculate production skills without ever losing the inherent sexiness of the beats, and this multidimensional musical approach unites EDM fans across a vast spectrum of genres and tempos. His original tracks combined with explosive live DJ sets confirm for the producer a powerful spot at the forefront of West Coast future sound. Crossing genres effortlessly and employing a rich variety of styles, his lively and intense sound is best described as a party- and that is exactly what Sugarpill brings to the dance floor.

As co-founder of and contributor to Abletontweets.com, Sugarpill uses his knowledge of the wildly diverse software not only to propel his own musical career, but to help aspiring producers develop their skills as well. Along with bass compatriot Stutterfly, Sugarpill also runs the popular Polybeat Plant radio show on GlitchFM, airing every Thursday night from 6-8PM PST and broadcast around the world into earholes hungry for glitchy goodness.

Having played alongside RD, Tom Burbank, Spank Rock, Eprom and Robot Koch, Sugarpill will no doubt continue to push electronic music forward towards the next new genre that no one will be able to name. He is now completing his next EP. His most recent productions, mixes and Sugarcasts including the new mixtape “Snark Spaks on a Curved Table” can be found on his SoundCloud or at SugarpillMusic.
